As part of the conceptual design, design development, and construction documents for a 6.3-acre multi-purpose community park and trailhead, Ric was instrumental in the coordination, development, and design of the park. Working with the City of Dublin Staff, East Bay Regional Parks District (EBRPD), and various governing agencies, Ric led the project and was responsible for the overall project coordination, subconsultant oversight, regulation compliance, and quality control.
Through community workshops with the City staff, Planning Commission, and various stakeholders, three alternative designs were refined into a final master plan that was unanimously approved by City Council. The project took several years to develop, but has become one of the more popular parks in the City of Dublin.
The park included a prefabricated restroom building, a multi-purpose grass field, basketball and tennis courts, age-specific tot-lots, swings, water play feature, climbing boulders, covered and open picnic/bench seating areas, a perimeter trail, and open space. Strategically placed trees provide shade and ambiance. Additional services included a trailhead for EBRPD with a parking lot, restroom, and horse staging area.
